Touchtones on Comand

I just installed an UHI Kit on my 2006 ML.

Is there a way of using the numeric keypad on the command for touchtone answering services? I press the keys and nothing happens.

Should I do something to the phone itself? Or does it have to do with the car or comand?

Thanks

Well, all buttons work on command unit and wheel, also the screens work ok. I do not know if this is sufficient to know that it is correctly version coded.

How do I tell? What should I do on Star Diag? or the command unit.

Using star Diag, check the mOST ring and see if the actual settings are the same as the configured settings

Is there a way to know if they installed advanced features on Star Diag through the Comand Screen, I thought I saw something like Menu+1+3 for 5 seconds but it does not work on mine.

Do you have the phone activiated? If so, can you voice dial with it or do you have to dial from the phone or a keypad?

No problem with voice dial

The is no problem with voice dial, I can dial up from the Comand keys or from the memory at the wheel and instrument cluster screen. The same for pick up or hang up.

The only problem is the thouchtone keys emiting the tones and that when I receive an incoming call there is no ring, only screen advice and mute of radio. Also when making a call there is no ring, just silence until the other person picks up.

Hope this helps in helping.

I've been looking at getting it from Steve at MBenznl for my 2006 CLK and am trying to learn how it operates. I don't have a COMAND system in my car. How do you voice dial with the system? Is there a manual or some instructions you could refer me to? Thanks

Sorry, no voice dial, I thought you were asking if I could have a normal voice conversation over the phone and if that did not have a problem.

The phone works as any other, you dial using your numbers on the Radio (in my case), the instructions are basically the same as you would find on your radio manual on the telephone chapter.

I think there is no voice dial unless you install voice module, something completelly different to the UHI kit.

Hope this clears things for you.

Thanks-I assumed that with the UHI kit you would be able to dial by pressing a button and saying a name or number and then the system would dial that number, like the way the Parrot Bluetooth handsfree kit does.

Well, I got my answer from the person that sold me the UHI, aparently there are no touchtones while on a call for the UHI sysytem. They tell me that is how it works.

The incoming ring was solved by increasing the volume while call was coming in. I did this with the wheel volume keys.

thanks to all for your help. I just wanted to post the conclusion for any other people with the same questions.
