Linguatronics and the W211

Does anyone know if I can add the linguatronics module to my 2005 W211 w/o the over priced phone?

I am told yes, but I want to verify before I buy it.. my dealer said he's not sure.

I dont know if it matters but which head unit do you have ....

In Australia the UK VCS works with all of the head units. However it doesnt work until it is properly coded.

US Spec COMAND that is standard on all 2005's. I know they install it with the phone, so my question is .. can I do it w/o the phone?

It should control your radio, CD stacker and switch to the navigation menu.

Yes, you can add the voice control on 05 e classes without phone.

Steve Did My W211....It will work without a phone..You may want to add a UHI kit ...Contact Steve re the mod..

Do you know if it can be added to a 2006 CLK 350 US without COMAND? I've been to the dealer and they say its not available. Steve said he hasn't been able to figure out how to do it on this vehicle, even though the cars pre-wired. He could only get it to work on a Euro COMAND. Why would MB not make it available for a CLK?

thanks Mark, what is a UHI kit though?

BTW.. to make things interesting, here is the email reply I got from a local MB dealer about adding this w/o the phone..
