CD Changer compatibility

CD Changer compatibility
I STFFed a little, but didn't find much. A friend wants to put a CD changer in his 2000 E430 (we assume there was one in it originally, but it may have been stolen when car was in an auction). A parts website indicates that the correct changer is 203 820 90 89; can anyone confirm that this (and only this) changer will connect to his totally stock 2000 E430 OEM head unit?

A002 820 7989 is MC 3198 - a little larger than the newer one, usually
found in trunk
A203 820 9089 is MC3010 - a scootch smaller, side-to-side (about 1/4")
and I think someone reported it as having better anti-skip resistance.
