Interesting COMAND unit with no Navigation
Hi
I have acquired (from ebay) a COMAND unit (D2B type, not COMAND-APS) from a CL, which is widescreen 16x9 , but does not have navigation.
If you hit the nav button, it says "NO Navigation", and in fact - it was advertised as so, and is for a market which is supplied without Navigation.
It has actually got all the navigation stuff in it , and you can insert the DC Test CD, (which passes) , and a map which loads hapilly - but if you press MAP or Nav, it says no Navigation.
So, this leads me to beleive that this COMAND has navigation disabled in it's software.
The COMAND MY2001 S/W update disk does not have software for COMAND 16x9 - so I can't use that to load new software ...
I have tried all the hidden engineering settings (including talking to it's diagnostic port) but all the settings seem normal ..
Anyone have any ideas ? Or happen to have some sort of access to newer software ??

What you bought is the commmand head unit. What you need to buy is the Navigation unit. It intergrates into the command unit.
