W208 - Battery Question

What kind of battery would be considered a high end upgrade from the stock (phillips?) battery which comes with the car?

The time has come to change the battery, one, because it is about 6 years old now and 2, because I want something a bit more conducive to the sound system I relentlessly pump... Thanks in advance...

It will be hard to find an aftermarket battery for your CLK that matches the OEM spec. Mercedes battries are studly in their capacity due to the high number of "consumers" in the car. The batteries in most auto parts stores are not beefy enough to meet factory specs.

The good news is that the OEM battries are reasonably priced, and roadside will bring it and make sure everything is properly reset after changing it. You can crank your audio as much as you want because 99% of sound systems use less current than the heated seats.

An Optima Yellow top is superior in every way to the OEM battery and is about half the weight. You'll need a longer ground cable and a different mounting tray though. I just ordered my new Optima mount from Jeg's, I'll post pics when I put it in.

Moviela,

My W208 battery just died. Are you saying that I can all the roadside assistance, and they will come to my home with a battery and replace it and reset all the window, seat, sunroof, etc.?

Do they charge for labor?
