AM reception and MB phone
I have crappy reception on my factory MB radio...any ideas???? Also, have an MB cell phone, if anyone interested - best offers BTW.

I believe one of the "hallmarks" of MB is crappy AM radio reception. The normal explanation/excuse is that tinted windows really mess up AM reception and/or "the German AM band" is different.
I have a 2000 S500 with a mostly unlistenable AM. Sometimes when the stars, planets, clouds and moon all line up just right, it is ok on some stations.

If it's crappy AM, mine was brutal right from dealer on my 2001. Brought the car in 5-6 times (under warranty), they finally located a "bad splitter" and replaced and reception was pretty much perfect. They try to tell you that it's your location, windshield antenna, etc. I told them that my neighbor has same car/year and parks in his driveway and gets perfect reception while mine gets nothing. They then stopped conjecturing about why nothing was wrong and got it fixed.
