Aftermarket 2DIN

Hey, just registered on forums. I have been looking around trying to find out what i need for an aftermarket headunit but cant find what im looking for.

My first question is if anyone knows if the Pioneer AVIC-D2 will fit in a w203 2002 c230 kompressor without bose. It takes up two DIN and from what i have put together i think i need a special kit or something. I also want to know what else i need, wire harness?

Thanks, Monkey.

The AVIC-D2 should have no problems fitting in your C230. If you do a search I think you'll find pictures of a couple mercedes with aftermarket double din head units. You of course lose the steering wheel controls (unless you go with Apline).

Thats a misconception...for the alpine unit it only works on SOME cars and models. My brother has an Alpine flip out dvd player and his steering wheel buttons are no longer useable. There is a wiring kit, but again it only works on some cars- I checked it out and Mercedes was not on the list of compatable cars

C230 Kompressor SS
Try the peripheral PESWIV at cardomain.com

It looks like it will work.

The peripheral peswix does not support the mercedes. The radio change is no issue at all. The loss of the basic controls from the wheel are heavily outweighed by the new radio with touch screen controls
