CL600 MB phone mutes stereo's sound for about 3 secs each min (vm's empty) WHY? HELP!
When my MB phone is on but not in use, the sound system, whether radio, CD etc.., will go mute for a few seconds every minute or so. This recurrent muting is the same as the notification of a new voicemail message.
I have erased all voice messages, but the problem continues. When the phone is turned off, the problem stops.
Both the dealer's service department and I are at wits end.
Has anyone had and (hopefully) solved this problem?
If you can't find the cause after a few minutes, try a master handset reset. It's in the handset's menu and will reset the phone back to MB/Carrier factory settings. This should clear the problem if it's related at all to changes in the phone's settings.
I have asked the dealer and they don't have any ideas, let me know if you find something.

The service manager agrees that it is a notification issue and something needs to be reset.
If the dealer can fix it, I'll let everyone know what they did.
If not, I will let you know if the other resets work.
Either way, I'll keep everyone posted.
I did as MagicO309D suggested. The only setting/feature not cleared was the caller ID which, of course, was full. I cleared the caller ID and the problem is solved. MagicO309D is now my hero.
I then had the porter who took me to my car take me to the office of the service manager. I explained to him what had caused the problem and how to fix it on the StarTac phone. Here's the fix:
1. Remove the phone from the cradle, flip it open, and push the "PWR" button to turn it on.
2. Press the key with the "mailbox" icon.
3. Use the up and down buttons on the left side to scroll - voicemail, caller id, etc..
4. Press the center button on the left side to choose the setting/feature, example - "caller ID.
5. To clear the setting/feature, press the "clear" button.
6. There will be an "are you sure.." prompt. Then press the "STO" button if you are sure you want to clear the setting/feature, example "caller ID"
7. Repeat 2-6 for every feature/setting that is full.
8. Congratulations. You are finished...and so is the annoying recurrent muting of you sound system.
