Adding Nav to 03 E55?
I tried the search feature but didnt come up with any results,probably didnt enter the correct wording....so.
Im looking for info and advice on adding Nav and Xm to an 03 E55 that didnt come with this from the factory.Is it best to use the factory stuff for this application or can I use an aftermarket deal such as the Eclipse stuff.I have Eclipse Nav head units in other cars that I own so thats why I used them for a referrence.I would like to have the factory stuff installed but would rather have my stereo guy do the work,can the units and all of the needed components be bought from the dealer or some supplier for a somewhat decent price?I havent asked my stereo guy yet so thats why Im asking here.

You can def put in a comand unit, but I don't think you can do XM chrysler has a deal with sirius so no XM support out of the box. You can get a comand for nav and all and get one of those small xm radios that works as an FM modulator, or hook it to the aux input.

Thanks for the help.Im fine with having Sirius as well.Im looking to buy an 03 E55 but it doesnt have nav,so im trying to see how hard it would be to put the factory nav/sirius equipment in.Any idea on what it would cost to do so?I want everything to look and be like factory.

Contact Steve at info@MBenzNL.com. He retrofitted quite a lot of nav.systems in 2003 W211s, and he can also get you a Sirius SAT radio installed (even if the car is not pre-wired for SAT). All depending on where you are located, of course.

Ohh and if you get the euro version it has video instead of sat radio, so you can have euro which will give video and get one of those small satellite radios and hook it up to the aux input, or get a us version no video but you get factory sirius radio.
