sirius aftermarket install in r350
Not wanting to spend $700-1200 to have the factory sirius installed after delivery, we had an aftermarket unit placed in the armrest storage. The wife never changes channels, so having it in the armrest works fine for us. We also had a mp3 / mini jack cable run from the aux input in the glovbox to the armrest storage. Now we use this jack for the mp3 player without having to open the glovebox. The Sirius Starmate Replay we used has aux output and we intially hooked it up that way, but I realy can't tell the difference when I run it on aux versus using the fm transmitter. We thought of using the small storage compartment in front of the ashtray, but decided the armrest worked best for us. The rear seat audio can use either the Sirius or mp3 from this position.
