Here you are gents... If you wish to change the "carrier text" on your v60 phone:

Enter these keys #7764726# and click SEND

Enter Default security code 000000 and click OK

You should then see a menu like this:

NAM Setup
Easy Activation
AKEY
Test Mode

Select NAM Setup, and click SELECT

Select Level 1, and click SELECT

Scroll down to HOME TAG and click CHANGE

The screen should then look like this (I have Cingular):

Home Tag:
Cingular__________
_________________
_________________

Enter whatever text you wish, and click OK, then click DONE, DONE.

The screen will say Please Wait, and will do a power cycle. You should then see your new text!!

You may also change the Partner Tag, Favored Tag, and the Nuetral Tag. These tags are displayed when you are roaming, or out of your normal calling area.

 

Keep in mind this only works on the v60t, not the v60c models.

 

Will it work on the V60i (Verizon Wireless)?

 

Nope.... Only on the TDMA AT&T/Cingular models.

 

When I order my v60 for my new CLK will I need to specify which type of v60 to order? I have AT&T and want to keep it....what should I tell my dealer?

 

When you take delivery of your car, you dealer should ask you what model handset (v60t or v60c) you would like. This depends of course on your choice of providers. In your case, you will want a v60t for AT&T.
