NOKIA 6310i in ML-430 MY99
Found here, that it is possible to install my Nokia 6310i in the car, which supports only 51xx/61xx. But all the dealers say, they have no idea how to do so, or they do not have upgrade kit. If someone knows, what to do exactly, and which parts are needed (##s), I would appreciate any help.

Hi
I assume you have the MB factory fitted phone which uses the speakers of the stereo and a microphone thats in the overhead panel. (and not a speaker on the side of the phone console) - and that you can then use via COMAND (if you have it) to dial ?
Its trivial :-)
You need 3 pieces.
(1) Converter for hanset holder so it takes 6210 phone
(2) Resistive filter for the aerial cable (which goes by the aerial booster for gsm 1800)
(3) New control unit for 6310i. Be careful not to buy the older control unit which only works with 6210, or the oldest (which you have alreadly) for 61xx/51xx only
The dealer should be able to find all of those on his parts catalog.
The converter is A203 820 07 51
The filter is A203 820 52 15
The Nokia **6210** controller is A203 820 99 26, and this has been replaced by a new part number which is for the 6310i, - the 6210 part is listed as a superceeded part in the dealers ordering system (but not the electronics parts catalog). I think its 203 820 25 85, but I may be wrong, so get dealer to check.
I dont know where the control unit is, or the booster/compensator - but I suspect its either under a seat (like on MY02), or just under the dash, remove the covers above the footwells and follow cable from the cradle)
Cheers

Not really. Megacomm in Germany will sell you the adapter piece, possibly the resistor, but not yet the new control unit. And I can get them cheaper from the dealer by asking for a 10% discount - presumably most people dont know the part numbers so its hard to find them :-)
I imagine the cheapest way of purchasing them is to get anyone you know who is flying to Germany to buy them there for you.. Germany is cheaper than UK MB dealers for parts, sometimes significantly so ..
