Can a pre facelift comand be used in a facelifted CLK W208?

Can a pre facelift comand be used in a facelifted CLK W208?
Can a pre facelift comand module be used in a facelifted CLK W208?
I have a face-lifted W208 2001 CLK with steering wheel controls etc and was wondering if I got a Comand meant for the non facelifted W208 (pre 2001 with no steering wheel controls) , would it work and be compatible ?
