2006 Clk500 Bluetooth And Hands Free
I am so confused as to the best solution to hands free for my 2006 CLK500
my car is prewired for phones. and I have telaid.
but no puck or jack in the center console. I do have the button controls on my steering wheel.
from what I understand I have to have a hands free kit installed by mercedes then get a blue tooth adapter so I can use any compatible phone..
can somebody that knows the answers please help me.
if this is the way to go does anyone know the cost.
thanks

not so great MHI blue tooth
I had Merceds install the blue tooth unit, much too expensive, but I did it anyway..
major problems.. there is a 30 foot range from the phone which means if you are within 30 feet of your car the car takes over and you cannot answer your phone unless you turn it off each time you get out.. there is no voice dial so I can either scroll thru my telephone directory or use my cell phone to find it and hit send then the car takes over...
are these just more of the mercedes ingenious ideas to make us crazy.. as in the case of you cannot get remote start

The range is a bit long - but the phone will disconnect from the MB system automatically. You could retrofit Linguatronic which would give you voice command of the phone and radio. You need to have a NAV head unit, though.
