What is the easiest way to hook up a amp/sub and ipod to the factory head unit on a 03 G55?

Use a Rockford 3sixty OEM interface unit, it gives you 6volt preouts ( I think) so you can hook up your amp and subs as well as more amps and upgraded speakers and it also give an AUX in with an independent volume control and it's all tuned via bluetooth from a PDA, but you can't control the ipod via the deck, only from the ipod itself.

I just had Pioneer AVIC Z1 navigation/DVD player unit, with bluetooth, ipod, rear view camera, and Sirius radio interaces installed on my G5-Brabus. I lost some of the stock functionalities like steering wheel controls and now the stock CD changer doesn't work, but I can download my CDs to the unit since it comes with a 30GB harddrive.

I also cannot change the clock on the instrument cluster because it used to automatically updated by the stock navigation. I think the miles to empty feature also does not function since I'm sure it was connected via stock speed sensor, etc.

I guess it was hard to let go the stock functionalities for more features. I'm still not sure if it was worth the $4,000, but I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.

I love that G55

I have a sub wired up to the head unit and all interior speakers in my ML plus I did that $12 ipod mod. if i had the money i would go with the z1

or the d3 its comming out pretty soon

Cool

Audiocontrol makes quite a few products that work really well... The rockford piece isn't bad but I use the DQL-8 exclusively in my custom installs....
