CD install: Cheaper or DIY?

I was just quoted $200 and 2.5hrs for the install of the CD changer which I already have. If I cannot find a better deal, I may have to do it myself which, I must admit, I am not anxious to do. Partly, that's because, eventually, I will still have to bring the car/changer in for reprogramming, anyway. Still, the Manhattan dealer is inconvenient and I haven't found another accessible one that will do it on Saturday.

Of course, if I had the assistance of an experienced hand, I might be more likely to DIY.

In any case, is there a dealer in the NYC area with whom I might have better luck?

$200=2.5hrs is OK.

OTOH, there have been many posts here and elsewhere saying that one can get the installation for =<$100 and several DIYers say they can do it in 1/2hour. So, if they can, experienced MB techs should do as well.
