MP3 DVDs
This will make a full dvd 4.+gb depending on your Mp3 sizes.
I posted a thread earlier describing how the comand load the dvd's. it's not like your home computer so be aware of this. but here is the basics.
Comand loads the Dvd form the root directory in alphabetical order starting with the first folder, then it's subfolders. then it moves to the next folder and then its subfolders and so on ..
after it has counted 70 total, everything else gets indexed, but not loaded therefore ignored.
The newer comands May or May not hold more files I'm not sure but i do know that 255 is too many for my unit.
Did you include sub-folders in your count?
If you arranged your DVD like I-tunes does with the Artist as the main folder ant the albums as the subfolders, then you have to take into account the subfolders because that's the way comand will count.
I had to remove all of the Album folders ans place the songs under the Artist name to economize folder space. this allowed me to have most of my favorites on a single Dvd. For artists that I had less than for songs on, I created a folder called Singles and put those songs with the Artists name before the song title.
Hope this helps.
The total of files in folders AND folders can not be more than 999.
I had to rearrange my collection also. I have a pretty good mix right now, so I'm happy and it's about 930 songs in 68 folders = 998 @ 4.3 GB.
I drove from Austin to Atlanta and back on CD-Mix and never got tired of my DVD.. So I'm cool with that.
BTW.
2007 E class has CD-MP3 Not DVD. except for the Nav unit.
The Manual says the same crap 255/255. but MP3's will only hold 99 by spec.
You can't rely on the Audio portion of the Manuals for these cars because they are very misleading.
I just love the many times it talk about controlling a DVD movie, then there is this little note that say's "to prevent driver distractions the screen has been blanked out"
Why waste paper telling me how to control a movie that I can't even see..weird.
