99 E430 Audio Suggestions???
So I have a 99 E430. Below are the details of my situation. I'm hoping for some suggestions.
I have:
- Alpine 9813
- Infinity Basslink II (from my BMW I sold, it's small...has built in amp...and sounds great)
I want:
- Install the HU in the empty compartment below the factory HU (keeping the OEM HU in place to maintain factory appearance)
- OR, sell the ALPINE HU and Enhance the signal of the OEM HU (anything cheaper than a 3sixty.2 or Cleansweep??)
- Install the Inifinty Basslink
So I like the quality of the BOSE system, but I think the signal needs to be cleaned up a bit. It's clear, but sometimes the treble bothers me...even if I lower it...a bit too harsh. I also want to get a unit that allows me to hook up an MP3 player. Something like the 3sixty.2 but not soo expensive. Or would it just be much less of a headache to install my Alpine HU into the storage compart under the OEM HU?
And if I install the Infinity Basslink (sub with built in amp), what configuration would you guys advise? Is there any specifics I need to keep in mind? Here is a link to the details for the Basslink:

Thanks in advance for the advice. With all this stuff I've been reading on this board about Fiber Optics and Ohms...I'm worried I'm gonna run into a lot of problems.
Thanks!

Step 1: Locate the 12 vote powered antenna wire (blue w/white line)
Step 2: Splice the wire and run it to the back of your car next to the subwoofer
Step 3: Locate the 'rem.' connection on your sub (Between ground & 12+)
Step 4: Install adapter (shown in link below) and connect to your rear speakers
Step 5: Plug in RCA cables from adapter to subwoofer
Step 6: Turn on head unit and play some tunes!

Note: Personally I would stay with the stock headunit and not mess with two stereos....IMO

So the reason for tapping into the rear speakers, is that because those are the existing subs and that signal will be mostly the lows? I wonder if the Bose system could use some crossovers?
So if I do stay with the Factory HU, is there a simple way I can enhance the signal (something like 3sixty.2 but much cheaper). The treble just really bothers me...much too harsh.
I'd also love to be able to play MP3's without having visible cables lying around...something clean looking. Any ideas on that?
Appreciate the help.
