w210 - command or aftermarket?
Command: On the plus side this looks stock. I really like the idea of keeping the car from looking like it has something worth stealing. On the minus side, I already own a AVIC-N2. It looks like putting in command is $1000+, plus some tinkering hours.
AVIC-N2: As mentioned before, on the plus side I already own it. Although if I leave it in my truck it will bring the resale of the truck up, and it already installed and working great there. But how much does it increase the resale? I mean, not by more than $500 I imagine, and it will cost me more than that to replace it.. so maybe I do yank it. On the minus, I'm not wild about the looks of it in my nice clean MB dash. Much prefer the look of COMMAND 2.0 unit
TOM TOM or other portable GPS: Another choice is a handheld unit. The plus here is that I can move it to the wife's far if I want. The minus is that it's not integrated with the looks of the car. It's sort of this wart you stick to the windshield. Also if I leave the stock headunit in I would have to add another "wart" to get SIRIUS.
After writing all this down it sounds like I should go with the AVIC-N2. I already own it. It gets SIRIUS. It has GPS. Anybody have anything else to add?
