RCA length question

To anyone that's done a stereo in a W203 C230- how long of RCA cables did you use? I always do all of my own installs- most of which I am descent at. However one thing I can never do is guess the correct length RCA's- they're always a mile too long.

No one has done their own stereo? 5 meter (16.4') or 6 meter (19.6')? When I measured for the power wire- I measured from the battery to the garage floor- then to the very back of the bumper and came up with around 15'- figured that would give me a little more than enough. I am thinking the 5m RCA's will be long enough- but I know my luck. Then again- I don't want an extra 3' of wire in the trunk that doesn't need to be there. Just that much more of a reason for noise to be introduced into the equation.

Try and make your own RCA wires. Buy some high quality wires and connectors and make to fit the exact length you need. You end up with better looking install and no wasted wires. When you buy pre made wires you have to go by the longest one available. Buy some high quality insulated wires that will limit the amount of noise induced to your system. Good luck.
