Video option for COMMAND

Hello C32 owners. As I understand, BMW and MERC in countries other than US has the TV and video input options. My 740iL in China had a video-in jack in the back passenger console. Now, with the C32 I have here in US, I am just wondering if there is a way to get the video option available for the COMMAND. My car would be a much more comfortable place to be with a little mobile entertainment going on.

I did some surfing and found a site called nav2tv (or something similar). Seems like they have a good knowledge on converting stock GPS monitors to enable multimedia. However, they did not have much for the C32. Thanks for any types of input.

Anyone done so?

So, has anyone purchased the Euro COMMAND? Actually, I'll be on a trip to Switzerland two weeks from now. Maybe there is a chance that I can find something there.

Nav-TV, I believe thats his name who owns that website that you mentioned, can convert US Spec COMAND systems for the newer cars, eg. the new C class. He's mentioned that he's activated the TV in US Spec C classes without changing the COMAND system. Contact him on his website or PM him through this site.

In fact, the latest US COMANDs can be told they have a TV system connected.

Go see Nav-TV - he is the best person in the US to talk to ..

Thanks guys, if the Europe trip fails to bring me any excitement (for my car), I'll have to get NAV-TV to do it for me.

DFC, if you are going to Europe, then while you are here, buy the "A/V adapter for COMAND" from www.megacomm.de

That plugs into the back of COMAND, and when the dealer enables the TV option (from their star diagnosis system), it should allow you to input video/audio into the COMAND.

If you want to go down the whole TV route, then see nav-tv, as you need looms, the latest MB TV tuner etc etc etc

Cheers

Richard, so if I get this adapter from Megacomm, it is self-installable for video/audio playback in my car? I am not looking to add true TV tuning, just DVD playback for the baby. Do these ever go on ebay.de? Thanks.
