Aux input on 2007 C280
I have a question regarding the Aux input install. I have just installed the Aux input in my wifes 05 C240 Wagon, piece of cake. The empty cable is right where it should be, sounds great with the I-Pod. When I tried to do this on my 07 C280, there is no empty connector. Does anyone know if this will work on my car or has anyone been able to do this on a 07? I have searched everywhere but no luck. Thanks!
cars built after September 1st, 2006 (MY2007), don't have the prewired Aux-In-connector (in the right front door sill) any more. Only if the vehicle is equipped with a stock comand, the Aux-In inside the glovebox is included.
The US has MCS-II in the B/C/CLK/ML/GL
In Europe we have COMAND-APS in those models (a bit like the COMAND-APS in E/CLS, but nav disk is in head unit)
In Europe, and on Canadian Audio-20-CD units its easy to add Aux input, you just need the right (short) loom. I would suspect that if there is a way of setting AUX input on the MCSII (we hold the CD button down on COMAND for a few seconds, same as for selecting IPOD if you have an IPOD adapter) then it is same wiring as European units.
If you can select AUX input, then go look at my retrofitting comand-aps document (for A/B class) on www.mercupgrades.com as it also covers putting in the AUX input harness and the part number of it.
