I just purchased an 01 clk 320 and unfortunately wasn't told about the dash problems in the car. I purchased it from ebay so I had to go on the dealers word and they never told me that you couldnt read the damn temperature or the clock and the gear you are in. Has anyone had this problem that was an easier fix than replacing the whole cluster? I dont think its a bulb issue because of how it looks but I could be wrong. I attached two pictures of the problem so if anyone has a clue on this or would like to elaborate feel free.

 

Take your car to an authorized dealer and ask if there is an extended warranty on the instrument cluster. I know that MB extended the warranty on all S-Class ('00 and on) and CL instrument clusters to 10 years from initial service date because of lighting failures.
