tweeter grille cover removal

'99 E320 Wagon
tweeter grille cover removal
The driver side tweeters (in door behind sideview mirror and on dash) are not working on the 99 E320 I recenlty bought.
Before I start looking into it does any one have helpful tips on properly removing the grilles, or possible causes - other than disconnected wires? This website http://w210.pietrzyk.net/disassembly.htm is very helpful on most issues but doesn't seem to cover the speaker grilles.
BTW does anyone have a source for that simple plastic wand the service tech seems completely disassemble the interior with in these videos.
