DENISON for 03 SL55 question

can someone please tell me which denison gateway they have installed in their 03 SL? also, where were the components added, where were they located and how much trouble was it to access the locations. does the denison product allow the interface with a portable sirius or xm radio plugged into the system? any help appreciated.

Sorry I can't answer concerning the locations in your car - but as to interfaces, see the new User Manual (form 14-06-07) at http://www.dension.com/download_icelink.htm. Many new possibilities with the system. If your satellite radio has RCA or USB outputs, you could connect it using the Gateway 500. You would likely have to control it through the satellite unit itself, and not COMAND - my best guess - but you'd have it fed through your audio system.

The '03 and '04 SLs are D2B. See the phone bulletin (which also shows locations of some of your electronics) for your car at http://phdwebsite.powerpulse.cc/Phon...SL%2004-03.pdf. I agree with idangeli that the Gateway 500 (but for D2B, not MOST) is your best bet (I gave you the link to the Gateway 500 user manual in the my first response).

The D2B unit connects behind the radio (you can also download the rather vague installation manual from the link I gave) - the location of the GW 500 module itself may vary depending on whether you put the control switch, USB connection, and iPod inputs. I located mine in the center console, and the length of the wires limited where I could put the GW 500 module. However, you may have more options if you put those in the glove box.

I'm not familiar with the amount of space you have behind your radio, or behind the dashboard. idangeli can probably be of more help there. However, a D2B GW 500 does not require reconnecting fiber optics in the trunk, as the MOST unit did in the trunk of my S500 (https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...8#post2234888).

Sorry I didn't include this in my first response. Was a bit rushed.

There should be plenty of room behind the headunit. There is a pocket right, behind / below the unit it self.
