Hiden Menus

Hiden Menus
Looking for experts to share some light.
I bought an EURO COMAND on ebay around a month ago. The unit is in perfect condition. I have been trying to get to the Engineering Menu with no success. The reason why I want to get to the Engineering Menu is to make the unit Region Free when playing DVDs. The DVD works perfect if I play some copies a friend of mine gave me (Region Free) but will not play original movies because of the Region Code.
I recently came across some posts in which they mention some hidden menu using the 5-7-3 buttons. Altohugh I have not been able to get to the Engineering Menu, I was able to get to this one. I do not want to change any option until I know what they will do. These are the options:
Anybody knows what these options will do?
I really want to get to the Engineering Menu so, if by selecting one of the above will let me get to the Enigeering Menu please let me know.

ENGINEERING MODE Menu:Press "Mute" + "Endcall" + "Service" (all together and hold for 5 secs)
ENGINEERING MODE Exteneded Menu:Must already be in the "ENGINEERING MODE Menu", then:
Press "#" + "*" + "left cursor arrow" (all together and hold for 5 secs)
Note: This only works if your headunit is running SW-Rel 9.390 Build - SW Year/Week:04/17 or earlier.

The problem I have is that the Mute+Endcall+Service does not work on my unit. I can access the hidden menus I mentioned on the above pictures but I cannot access the damn Engineering Menu.
I also wanted to know what the above options will do (if anybody knows)

thats the same problem im having. i can not get into engineering mode, any idea of how to unlock dvd n motion otherwise? ive even gone into the star and unlocking but still no success.

i recently talked to a member which had the same problem. engineering menu works fine on mine, but will not work on his. we found out that the software version didnt allow this. See if you can get the dealer to revamp the unit.

anyone have recomendations for places to unlock euro commands that CAN NOT get into the engineering menu? Ive been searching but not much luck. I just want DVD N MOTION to work....
