2004 E500 Navigation..help please
Although I owned a 1992 400E, which my brother totaled
, I am still fairly novice when it comes to Mercedes. I assume the car is navigation ready but it just doesn't have the GPS DVD module in the trunk. I called the dealership, who informed me it would cost about $2100 total to do ($1800 for the module alone). My question is, will I be able to buy another (aftermarket) DVD navigation system and have it installed in the car while using the same in dash screen? I absolutely love the in-dash screen and don't want to change it, but I was wondering if there is a cheaper alternative to using it for navigation.
Thanks for all you help.
Sorry if I'm sounding like a rookie, but I want to make sure I'm getting the best deal I can. Is the module above all I'm going to need to add navigation to the car? I'd prefer to have the install done professionally, does anyone know about how much that would cost (I know it will vary depending on where I go)?
Thanks.

Your reference did not cover the Navi processor/DVD drive alone, looked like it had all parts, trunk liner replacement, wiring harness etc. Of course this all would be included in the dealer price.
