Help on a new audio system
I just got my car - '02 240, with a 6cd changer (they charged me $995.. 
Anyways, i was originally going to get the basic bose w/o the changer and then getting another audio deck put in. But the tech. guy at Best Buy told me that most places wouldn't do it on a benz and they'll probably mess it up if they do. So i had no choice but to buy the cd changer. Do any of you guys have a non-factory deck? If so, where can i buy it and have it installed?
I hope that made sense... I really dont know that much about cars.

i wish i could help but i am in the same situation. i bought a 2002 off the floor and it had no cd player. i could go back for an install but couldn,t bring myself to pay a grand for the mb 6 cd changer in the trunk. i went to circ. city and best buy and they all told me they could not do anything there with my car. can i get an after market cd changer to work with my stock mb radio/cassete player. or can i gat a whole new system and still keep my steering whel controls. i was hoping for alpine. don't know a lot about the tch. aspects of this so thankds for any help.

circuit city and best buy is about the last place you want to go to install a stereo, let alone in a MB.
GO to a reputable place that does only car audio. Or high end audio with other auto work. But don't go to those mass merchants. They are way tooo inexperienced to handle a MB. you will be asking for trouble.

I agree with MMGrad,
Best Buy, Circuit City, etc... are boneheads and I would not let them touch my old Pontiac let alone my E55. In Texas there is a chain called the Car Stereo Store that has a reputation for doing great work. Find a local shop (I am sure there must be a good one in Austin) that has done installs on other high end cars. I would suggest something from Eclipse.
