Kinda defeats the purpose of a hidden display but it sure looks cool!

..........confused. Maybe I misunderstood your response. If you don't want to see the display I guess you can hide it in your glove compartment or better still you can place it under the carpet so that when you hear a radar signal, you can stop, open you glove compartment or maybe remove your carpet and see if if the signal is X, K, or Ka. The whole idea behind having a stealth detector is so that the detector itself is not visible but just the display is visible.

In Virginia and DC, detectors are illegal. If a cop sees a radar display in your rear view mirror, you will get a ticket. I use a remote detector with a display on my lower dash where drivers behind me cannot see it.

................I think you are not familiar with this set up. The detector is completely no visible. The display just looks like a temp or clock or any quartz display. Says nothing about it being a radar display unless when radar is actually hitting your car. Only way a cop will know is if you decide tell him and even then.........he will not see the radar detector. I guess if he dislikes you, he can write you a detect for having a quartz display without a radar dectector.

Ted,

Sounds like you have a pretty clever set-up there. Got any pics?

I thought you were talking about this, which a cop can see if he is behind you at night.

mirror with car on..............you just see "auto" which can mean anything. Just like the Donelly mirrors which have temp, compass and clock displayed on them

Only when radar or laser hits your car does it display x, k, ka or Laser with a distintive audible beep for each one. So if a cop stops you, your rear view mirror displays nothing if you turn off your car r it simply displays "auto" if you leave your car on..........If he gives you a ticket, he either doesn't like you or he has read this post.
