08' C350 with IPOD -- WEAK SOUND???
I just took delivery of an 08' C350 sport. Yesterday I tried my Ipod by plugging it through the auxiliary input provided in the glove box. While it worked, it was very disappointing to hear the music coming through at a much lower volume than the radio and CD's. I turned the volume to max on the IPOD and synced it with the pre-amp on max on Itunes, but still. it was much lower. Anyone else have this problem??????
I recently rented a ford SUV for a weekend trip which had an aux input. My ipod came through at the same volume as the radio and CD, so I know its not my Ipod.

I am not familiar with the physical setup of the '08 C-Class, but did you have the AUX input selected on your radio or COMAND? It sounds as if you may have been getting only crosstalk. Having done what you did to the iPod, you should have been blasted out of your seat.

Did you have the iPod's volume turned up? I may not be recalling it correctly, but with AUX in, the iPod volume control still functions. With the integration kit, it is disabled.
I'm currently driving a Skoda (VW) using the AUX port, and the volume on the iPod must be set to half or better to get decent volume from the radio.

I do have the volume at maximum on the IPOD and have the Aux option chosen. By the way MBTex -- I do no have Multimedia but was told by the MB dealer that an improved integration kit is coming out within a month or so that can be dealer-installed. Hopefully that will fix things.

MB probably should have just included the IPod kit in the MM package. Just one of those things when dealing with a new model release and the brand new MM. I suspect they'll get the kinks out in this year's C before working it into the other models.

I also have my Ipod using Aux on my C350. Yes the sound does sound a little weak. However after you tune up the volume to max on your Ipod and up the volume in your cd player, the sound volume is decent
However, remember to change your volume on both your car and Ipod after the use. You don;t want to be deaf, especially with Ipod earbud in your ears with Ipod Max Volume
