Question Adding BT to 05 c320c

I read the bluetooth sticky but didn't find (probably missed it) instructions on how to add BT to an 05 c320 coupe. I think the car is not prewired for phone because I don't see anything on the armrest where I could plug in the wireless4mb bluetooth puck.
So I am guessing I will first have to do all that wiring?

Are there cheaper alternatives? what parts can I do myself? what do you call all the wiring that has to be done prior to the putting in the bluetooth puck?

Thanks,

--Carlos

I am in exact same situation. I have 2005 E500 4matic.
I would like to install BT but I was told in the dealership that pre-wiring was not done on my car. They were asking $1000+ for the whole thing.
I also don't see any wires/plugs in the central armrest compartment.

I read that ALL 2005+ were pre-wired? Is that true?

Thanks,

I think they were prewired all the way to the armrest, meaning you won't have to go back to the trunk and modify things but you will still need to get the plate insert, but what I am trying to figure out is what else is needed because I see people doing all sorts of weird hookups that involve antennas and what not but I don't see why that is needed for bluetooth.

You don't either see a plastic cap at the armrest storage space, one that protects the MHI connector and clips off?

Nope, none of that. I'll take a picture later and post it. Just to make sure I'm not missing something.

If the floor in the storage compartment does not have a connector, lift up the false floor and see if you have the antenna and the cradle connector there.

And the same as always, if you post or PM your VIN, one can find from the vehicle data card if it is prewired.

I guess, I'm s***t out of luck then .

What would be realistic price to pay to install everything, wiring and BT in a dealership? I just want to be sure my dealership is not overcharging me.

Thanks,
tzar

There is another thread on the installationof the Blue tooth adapter I believe it is in the W211 forum as I understand on the W211 you first have to remove the plastic cover in the glove box where the two buttons for Tele Aid are. Than there is supposed to be a connector you pull thru.

BUUUUUUT, prewired does not mean the "equipment is there" for transmission and reception, you just don't have to run the wires. on the W211 I thought the 2004 can be just hooked up because the Tele Aid is connected to the phone aspect. Buuut again the I understand the "equipment" is not digital. So it will not work when the change to all Digital system is made.

I guess you are talking about the "puck with tail" option. A useful reminder. I'm not familiar with this but it should be for US cars with Tele-aid. Likely the way to go if the car is not pre-wired (or would it still have to be prewired?).
