Fader switch getting HOT

The fader in my 1993 190 is getting hot to the touch each time I turn on the radio. The radio has started to pop and crack and will not play on the front speakers and it has little to no volume.
At times for short periods "a minute or two" the radio will work okay when the car has sit for a long period or over night.
Anyone have a thought on this problem???

That is indicative of a shorted voice coil on one of the speakers. Eventually your radio will either fail or the fuse will blow if you do not get it fixed or at least disconnect the bad speaker.

Thanks for the information!! Do you have any idea as to how I should go about searching out the bad speaker???
Would simply unplugging each speaker one at a time be a solution or could this be done at the amp???
Trust me, I am a real dumbo when it comes to audio work!!!
