What is this wire for on the back of the Audio 10?

As title, I removed my audio 10 to install a new headunit and I didn't know what this wire was for so I left it unconnected.

Everything seems to work, but radio reception is very poor so I'm thinking it's maybe some sort of power to the aerial?

Any help appreciated.

that is the auxiliary antenna in. If you are not getting proper recption its likely because you do not have the antenna amplifier lead powered up. double check your connections.

It actually isn't any auxiliary antenna input but an output signal from the radio, controlling the antenna amp diversity switch at the back of the car.

Also this car has the antenna powered from the rear SAM, but the radio still controls it, through the rear SAM, so it still needs to be there.
