Vehicle Tracking Security Systems

Have you had a Vehicle Recovery Security Tracking system fitted to your MB. Have you ever contacted the company like Tracker, TrackStar, NavTrak etc and asked them to perform a check if it is actually working…

I have, twice.. and guess what, they could not get it to respond… even after getting a module changed and being told.. “its working fine now”

Most new MB have very sophisticated power circuits and I reckon my unit has been connected to a logic power circuit, you know, one that stays powered up under certain conditions..

They are now sending the senior engineer to look at the installation and get it working…

How many other MB owners have Vehicle Tracking Systems.. do they work..?? have you ever had them tested..??

Why not get it tested early in the morning before you unlock or start the engine..

I don't really see the need for a tracking system unless your insurance will not cover a theft.

No need for tracking because of insurance

You are partly right about that..

Some UK insurers require vehicle tracking for cars over £30k or $50k..

But even if you are covered, are you really sure you will get paid out for all those extras..

And even if you do get paid out.. it could take up to 10-12 months to replace your MB to the same spec... and if you get paid out at a used MB rate.. then what do you think the chances are of finding an MB to the same spec and quality as yours, or even finding another XJS as good..!!

Most vehicles tracked are found within 2 hours, so the cabin is still nice and warm, and those sticky fingers have not had a chance to remove all your toys..

And you keep your no claims bonus.. because you know as well as I do.. the insurers will get their money back one way or another..

great pic

Understood.. I was not aware that it was required for insurance purposes in the U.K.

Thanks!
