Comand on 2009 Models

You guys might have read the press releases on the 2009 updated CLS, CLC and SL. The photos released by MB show a re-designed Comand (no more center row of buttons, std. Bluetooth, voice-activated) but the details are scant.

The press releases only mention an "updated" Comand but there is no mention of a touchscreen. There is also no click wheel on the center console of either of the three cars (ala S and C Class), which leads me to believe that all the navigating is going to be done through the "star-button" (I didn't know what else to call it) on the bottom right of the Comand (like on the current E-Class). Hardly an easy way to navigate the stereo and enter information.

I wonder if MB is going to incorporate this updated Comand on the rest of the cars for 2009 (ML, R, E--I doubt the E--, G and GL).

I've attached some images of the updated Comand in three cars I mentioned above. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts. Or if you have any info from MB, please share it with everyone!

Actually it looks uglier than what is in there now. i think the new C's radio is an abomination When MB starts doing touch screens i would be happier, but talking to an MB rep, they don't have issues with fingers breaking the screens, low failure rate with what is currently being used, and that they aren't a jap car manufacturer that needs a bunch of gizmos to sell a vehicle or justify it's worth... his words not mine, but i concur with him.
