Auto Mute Wire- where to?

I just installed a laser jammer, and there's an auto-mute wire which is supposed to be connected to car stereo. Problem is I dont know which wire to connect it to. I searched and didn't really find an answer, so can any of you help me out?
Thanks.

if you have tele-aid, its at the teleaid module, if you have the factory amplifier but no teleaid, then its at an empty pin at the amp. (cant remember which one though)

Sorry for my ignorance, I know nothing car stereo system. Where is an amp located? Also, the hardware came with the jammers are those.."vampire clip", so i believe it should be tapped onto an existing wire.. How do i get it connected to an empty pin?

Thanks again.

In case you want to try yourself, you should find the yellow/black mute wire
- from the rear of the radio
- from the tele-aid unit
- from the ctel separation point or
- from the connector behind the door sill at the driver's side.

except if he has the amp.. in which case it will not be present at the radio.

Are you sure? I would have expected the same but when I had a look at the sound system amp, I could not find any mute line from the amp. I know it is at the amp on the W211 at least. But I have not worked with a 203.076, just looked at the diagram.

yes, it really depends on whether the car has teleaid.. for instance on W211 the mute wire runs from the teleaid to the amp and since all w211's have amps and AFAIK almost all have tele-aid its pretty standard. With the C class most (that I have seen) do not have tele-aid. The reason I know about the amp is that I put a motorola HFK on my old C and it was all kinds of fun finding the mute wire. On mine I had the amp but no teleaid and the wiring diagram showed a mute wire at the radio and at the teleaid but when i went to the radio there was no mute wire and the location where it should have been did not work when we tried to ground the pin. We ended up pulling out the amp and there were like 3 empty pins. we tried grounding each one and sure enough one was the mute input.

I'm sorry but i'm still clueless on doing this muting wire.. I feel stupid
So if i dont have teleaid, I should go to my amp right? Where is the amp located?

And, this is the clip i got:

I believe it should be clipped onto an existing wire, so which wire should I clip this onto?

Sorry that im asking all these dumb questions..

dont feel stupid.. these cars arent exactly easy to work on.

The amp is in the trunk of the car on the passenger side all the way in a little well. You need to pull the passenger side trunk liner out to get at the amp which will have a bunch of heat-sink fins on it. The T-tap that you have will not work unless the mute wire is already present.. ideally you can go to parts and have them look up he connector for the amp and get you one and then plug it into the empty slot.
