04 e class bluetooth help
ok, i checked the archives and im lost. I dropped my 04 E55 at the stealer and they installed the bluetooth kit for $2400. I show up to pick up the car and try to connect my bberry 8130 and it pairs successfully but the dash and command do not see the phone. I get no phone sound from the speakers and the radio stays on. The dealer then tells me that the bbery 8130 isnt supported. So i go out and buy a razr and the same thing happens. I pair the phone no problem "mb device". The dash and command do not see the phone.
What isthe difference between the $2400 system they sold me and the $385 puck and tail everyone talks about?
what should i do? did i get ripped off? is all i need the puck and tail? please advise.

Nothing MB related (sorry)
2004 US spec E-class, I guess? Did the dealer program the car after the phone kit was retrofitted? The car must be 'told' that the there is a new audio device connected to the MOST ring, and the phone menu must be activated in the instrument cluster.
And last - but definitely not least!! - Telaid must be DE-activated.
greetingz,

Also, I do not understand the $2400 charge. Your car should have had a CP-211 handsfree system already installed, providing Tele-Aid (upon subscription) and cell capability (after doing the programming Big Sis mentioned). It would also have needed a V60S cradle and a Bluetooth puck with tail.
Because the Tele-Aid was analog, and that capability has now been discontinued in the U.S., Big Sis is also correct that the Tele-Aid portion of the CP-211 would have to be disabled (to avoid a warning light).
I believe I would ask the dealer exactly what he installed. This just doesn't sound right to me.
