I have a 2006 W211 with CDC. This morning I pushed the button to open the door and change CDs. The door opened and now nothing happens when pressing any of the 6 CD buttons or when I press the silver button to close the door. Any suggestions?

 

Does the CDC unit still play discs, or is it totally dead?

 

I cannot answer that question. Currently there are no CDs in the CD changer and pressing any of the buttons (1-6) does nothing to start the normal sequence to load a CD. All of the other functions on the COMAND head work including the single CD/MP3 disk on the top of the COMAND head.

 

While this is an old thread, I just experienced the same issue. My CDC has CD's and they play just fine. Is possible the little motor taking care of the opening and closing going bad? It is stuck open and I have no idea how to at least close it down
