Exclamation Adding Amps and Subs to Bose System in ML500

I first put in a Rockford Fosgate Sub/Amp combo. I took the input from the wires leading to the subwoofer under the driver's seat. After about 15 minutes though, the volume starts spiking.

I want to get 2 12's to replace the RF sub, but I need to fix this problem first. Can I get the input from somewhere else where I'll have better luck or is there an interface adapter i can use to add 2 amplifiers to the system?

I am basically wondering, if you have ever put in an aftermarket system, where did you take the input from.

Thumbs up

I'm thinking about installing an amp and 2 12s too. Your problem seems to be a grounding issue make sure you have ground the amps correctly and the input wire is clear of any statics.

I grounded it right to the frame of the car, which should be grouned fairly well. I made sure the paint was shaved off too so it had a good contact. You have any ideas for grounding it otherwise? That should work though. I'm not spiking the wire either, because we wired it with 8 guage wire for a 200watt amp.

I'm putting in 2 Audiobahn AWT12x 2000w RMS linear compression subwoofers w/ 2 1800w RMS A18001DQ amps and an ACAP40 5 farad cap. I was thinking, delayed turn-on to eliminate initial popping sound... SNI-35 to go from high level to RCA output and 2 4AWG wiring kits. If you have any suggestions or additions, say please.

Thanks.

Still wondering about where to take the input. My sound guy said right from the head. Do you know what type of output is back there?

I love to help you out but I never work with an OEM head unit. So far all the audio mod I made to my cars its all aftermarket from Head to toe. But I love my Nav and I like to keep the elegance of my Mercedes, that's why I'm planning the upgrade mode on the OEM Head unit. I'm taking it to my local sound competition shop to have them figure it out for me. I head to mess around with OEM stock and I don't want to break it. I'm sure someone in this forum will know but most of them just replace the whole unit. Be patient or take my advice, go to a local pro shop and have them do it to your satisfaction.
