W211 "Audio 20" Aux Input

Whats the cheapest way to get an auxiliary input into the E-Class W211 Audio 20 system? Not looking for massive ipod integration, just a patched in auxiliary input. Thanks.

There's an aux input in the glove box.

Audio 50 for sure doesn't have aux capability. Not sure about Audio 20s, as we don't see them in North American W211s. You might want to ask your question at http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=14 .

I'm afraid Audio 20 does not have AUX capability like you say. An after market kit like Dension or similar could be an option.

Yup, it looks like getting an Aux In or the Audio 20 is no simple matter. Will try to check with the European boards. The Dension Gateway 500 should solve the problem but its a pretty expensive although with more features!

Navtv.com MOST AUX if it is optical system. you can email derek@navtv.com and ask him if there is any special price, I think they had a special on them a month or 2 ago, let him know i sent ya.

if not, then just add a parrot bluetooth kit like the MKi9100 and the analog t harness, aux and bluetooth , etc..

Good Luck... Be carefull these:
1- Soldering points is very small place. Need a professional person hand.
2- Left and Rights cable shown in pictures but also you should to solder Ground cable too on any corner of shiny abd bright steel plate (this plate seen up to word "MASSE" on last picture).
3- Before to solder cables, you should to pass this cable from any hole of audio 20. if not or if forget then your cable will stay between auido 20 device and his cover. Tehn cover of it dont close good. And in time because of friction this cover can cut cable. Therefore get pass the cable any hole from back side of device.
4- You need create one slience CD (search google how is) for you can listen music. Prepare a slience CD. If you can't do this, i will ty to help you about this too. Your connection will use actualy CD player output channel. For listen music, you play your mp3 player and push button "CD" on your audio 20. Then ths cilence CD will dont give voice to speake and only you will hear from you mp3 player voice. I hope understand this point.
5- Select a thick and resistable a aux cable for the solder. Becaseu thats soldering point is very small and you have few chance to solder. If you use thin ans weak cable, in time will destroy and/or broken. Then maybe next time you can't solder again thats points. Therefore to do one time with good and resistable aux cable and keep long time life. You couldn't be second chance.

Good luck..
(i hope you understand me becasue of i dont have good english language)
