Phones and Lifespans (MBwise...)
Hopefully, the recent generation of MBs last like their predecessors did: Years and years and years... (I'm thinking of decades with proper maintenance!)
But the automobile is one thing, and the telephone electronics is something else - which could be a good or bad thing.
Considering that the V60 and Timeport phones are out-dated as we read this, what happens in 4 years from now when your V60/Timeport phone is more of a classic than the car?
For someone who is willing to keep his/her Benz till it becomes a classic (or close to it), it seems that the integrated phone would not be a good purchase.
It would be nice to have the latest phone (2003) in your older car (1999)...
Any thoughts on where you will be 4 years from now in regards to your MB telephone?
Do you think you will keep your phone in 4 years? Will it last? What will you do if it breaks?
What will MBUSA say?
Will you remove the unused cradle if you go with another provider or another phone?
Will you miss shouting at the pleasant, but annoying when incorrect, voice recognition voice?
If you sell your car in 20 years, will anyone know what that silver thing with a keypad is?
Just keyboarding outloud
