W203 Star Diagnostic programming after removing Comand
I had to remove Comand and installed an aftermarket stereo with steering wheel control adapter (Pioneer). The car is W203 pre-facelift. Everything works from audio point of view but I need to visit the dealer and ask them to change the settings when the car no longer has Comand. At the moment they are some empty displays in cluster and I am not able to re-set the clock since it is done from Comand in those cars that have it.
My understanding is that the dealer should simply program it with Star Diagnostic and "tell" the car that there is Audio 10 instead of Comand (even though there is an aftermarket stereo). My point being that when one has Audio 10, the clock is re-set from the cluster menu so I hope this cóuld be done in my car as well by simply changing the setting with Star.
I booked the time from the dealer but got very skeptic response that it may be complicated. The person I talked to clearlt did not know what he is talking about and gave me very rude customer service. It is the closest dealer so I will anyway give it a try.
Has anyone else taken similar actions and could you give me a simple task list what has to be done with Star Diagnostic? I am planning to overlook what the engineer is going to do and I could gently try to give some instructions if he does not know what to do.
Then it will remove the nav menu and enable the time setting menues
Can not do that on A/B/ML/GL/R and MY 08 cars that are all SCN coded though
