In my opinion the best way to go is with Clifford...As for accessories, 99% of your car theives will skip your car if it has the red blinking light...the other 1 % (Pros) it doesn't matter, If they want the car they will get it weather you have an alarm system or not...Get something fairly simple that has an impact (Shock) sensor and operates the door locks and flashes the lights...Other than that you will most likely end up with false alarms and other issues that can be worse like your vehicle not starting...Make sure a good shop does the work and use the k.I.S.S. rule.

Keep It Simple Stupid.

Just my opinion after being in this business (Automotive Electronics) for 15 years.

I agree with the KISS method. I try to live by it. thanks for the info. Any idea on estimated cost of such a system (with installation)?

ID say less than 400 bucks with installation...Don't go with the cheapest! Go with whomever is the best...Pay a bit more now for installation and less pain later when the don't mess up your vehicle....

Just spoke with an Auto alarm shop and they said they have Clifford but they don't recommend it with MB they said they prefer Vipor for Benz. any truth to that? they wanted $299 for the Clifford basic system and $229 for the Vipor.

More profit in Viper Maybe?...To tell you the truth it really does not matter which system you use. Look at the remote (keyfab) pick the one you like...look at the warrenty, cliffords is lifetime, To say one works better than another in a MB is a joke...Its a black box with wires coming out of it and a wireless transmitter...the real value is to be found in the technition whom installs the system...I am in Seattle so I cannot really give you an indication of who locally in your area is good...Maybe contact your local MB dealer and see who they recomend...
