How many amps?

Hey guys,
I've been using my stock bose since last year when I bought the Eclipse AVN-7000 on my 97 S600 but have decided to by-pass an replace it with an after-market due to noises coming out of the stpeakers. Having two speakers in each door and 4 in the rear deck (I know I won't be using the center tweeter), how many amps do you think I need and how do I hook them up for maximum performance? Any suggestions on what brands/no. of channels, etc.?

Thanks,

Are you planning on using the Bose speakers? If so, it's a bit of a minefield. The Bose speakers and amps are unconventional, and are designed to be used together. For example, the speakers have odd frequency responses and crossover points and are 2-ohm, which gives most amplifiers problems. If you want significantly better sound you have to go to a high-end auto stereo shop that has experience with these cars and be prepared to pay for a major upgrade of everything. Otherwise, stay with the stock components or be prepared for less than satisfactory results.
