Is it possible to replace the Comand/Harmon system?
Hello all...
We recently purchased a 2008 GL450. We love it, but don't like the navigation system, and strongly prefer XM over Sirius. Is there some way to replace the Comand system? Or is there a way feed another nav system and XM into the stock unit?
I don't want to lose the TeleAid, cellphone, or Backup Camera integration, though.
Any suggestions?
Thanks...

a few ways to go about it, alpine Vhub, but you still have to screw with the BS audiovox xm interface, which will use your existing cmd screen, add nav and whatever else you want
or replace everything with the alpine 505 and wire in the telaid into the aux from the factory amp. backup camera should be able to be interfaced, and the alpine's docked nav has bluetooth built in

Well, it's good to know I have some options; thanks!
Now, how do I go about finding a really good installer? I'm in south-eastern Virginia. I obviously need someone who can do all this without messing up the 450!
Thanks for the replies!
