Hmm... I'm thinking there is more to this post than what meets the eye... I bet you installed this yourself. Or at the least, it did not come stock with your car. Right?

I bought the parts separately, had the dealer install it. Saved about $800.00 that way instead of buying it from the dealer directly.
It's still allot of money but the phone is great, easy to use and it's allot less distracting when driving.
Later,
Tim

I knew it... Congrats!

By the way, I thought the V60 for MB was no longer made? Did you get a used one? Or just found one on ebay?

I bought the phone new from the dealer. The local dealer has a few available. He told me that new phones are easy to get, but warranty replacement phone are next to impossible. I was a little concern because, I am Mr. Consumer and everything I buy is crap. So far so good phone works great.

I just did the same thing. (buy parts and installed) The v60 with voice recognition is wonderful!

You will have people look at you funny when your talking on the phone and you turn your head while your driving to check for traffic and your still talking. :p They won't see any phone and they think your talking to them. It has happened already a few times. It makes me laugh.

I got the phone kit with VR for only $800
and the v60 new at a dealer for only $518.
$1,318 is much better than $2,395.00

I walked out of my car and after about two steps I heard "ring ring". Sure enough it was the phone in the car I ran back and got the call. Its great even works after you have turned off the car!

The dealer did the install for you or did you do it yourself? I'm interested. Btw did your car come with any cell phone capability other than Teleaid?

I'm thinking about upgrading my Timeport to a V60. I've looked at my current system and the job is simple to perform. I am looking for the part numbers for the following items:
- PSE
- VRM
- Mounting bracket for PSE and VRM

By comparing the numbers for the PSE, VRM and bracket I am hoping to see if I need to change the parts out. I am almost certain the PSE will need to be changed. The dealership says the VRM needs to be changed as well but would not provide the part number for me. The cradle and wiring harness will need to be changed out for sure.

Scorchie had a great idea. The suggestion was to change the know parts and see if it works. This method will work but I would like to know the cost before I get too deep in the project. If anyone has some helpful info, please post or email me.

Thanks,
DC

V60s are still available at the Dealership, it's the Timeports that are no longer in production. Most dealerships will sell refurbished Timeports.

lovin my C230K,

I was looking for part numbers for a 01 CLK55. I believe Timster has provided all the required part numbers.

Did you do a new install (installation without a pre existing telephone system) or an upgrade?

New Install.

From $50 Cingular V60 to $500 MB V60

I did all the wiring as well.

Don't forget that the cars that were not setup with the phone or voice from the factory also need relays and fuses in certain spots.

I love it! Voice recognition is sweet.

It works OK. The radio has to be on for the system to work. There doesn't seem to be any phone control on the audio 10. I actually removed the audio 10 and reinstalled the stock radio for the keypad and other features. Actually I am looking for a CD changer now to play CD's again.

I am selling my Audio 10 and I am looking to buy a CD-Changer for my C230K.

btw: Where did you buy your tempronic display? How much was it?

Thanks
-Eric
