Nav DVD only works ... Sometimes

'06 E500 Flint Grey - Charcoal
Nav DVD only works ... Sometimes
Was getting the no DVD error with 2006 nav disk so upgraded the firmware. All was working ... Until I made a stop. Once I got back in car it gave same error. Next morning it was working fine ...
What I have found is that if I turn off ignition and restart it stops working ... If I get out and lock doors then get back in and restart it's fine ...

Anyone experience this? Suggestions?
