Dealer won't install my oem bi-xenons on my '05 w203??

So i got a used set of oem bi-xenons a few weeks ago...finally took them into the local dealership in MD to have them installed. They guy then called me a few hours later saying that they "cannot install them because it requires modification wheich they are not aloud to do."

I was never aware of any modification, only plug and play like everyone everyone has always talked about. THe guy said that they needed some wiring work done to make them work blah blah and that since they don't come from the factory with bi-xenon thats why or some BS...

Can someone help explain this or just reassure me that they are simply idiots and that I am better off doing it myself and simply taking my car in to have them turn the xenonpresent thing on!

PS i wanted to knock him out for being stupid but i refrained!

Can you post the part number of your new lights, preferably your car VIN too.

On the W211 at least the wiring has changed completely at one point, I certainly understand that a dealer would not want to install e.g. new lights to a car that has the older wiring. But if the lights are for the same MY as the car, I would have assumed a simple installation (just version code xenons present). But I have not had a look at the W203 wiring.

If the dealer does it then you must have the front and rear level sensors, plus the washing system to stay within the law

True, a very likely reason the dealer would not do it, unless you were willing to have these included (but that again is too much work for the dealer, they would unlikely take the task because of the huge work).
