COMAND NTG 2.5

Hi!
Thinking of upgrading from Audio 20 to COMAND NTG 2.5 in my E-class 211.. But as I understand, the ntg unit comes in a HARMAN KARDON version and a "normal" version--->without HK...
Can you fit a HK version unit into a car with original soundsystem or does it need programing to work, if this is possible at all?

Reason I ask is because i'm about to buy a HK NTG 2.5, but that will be a waste if I have to change the whole soundsystem for it to work...

Thnx on advanced..

The Comand unit itself should be the same, just the MOST ring configuration different (I understand this brings the menus too). You would need the additional amplifiers and you would need to rewire speakers, and actually you would need a different set of speakers (existing changed and a few added).

I see.... I've heard something in that direction also, but wasn't sure..
thnx...
Think I'll go for the unit without HK then, placing the last $ on better speakers instead if it would be necessary..
