i am sorry if it has been answered already there so many post regarding that but not a strait answer.
is there any way to get into the "engineering mode" on a W221 in the COMMEND?
i am trying to find a way to copy songs from pcmcia to the HD of the car.

There is no (known) engineering mode on the 221. The HD would not handle a lot of songs anyway and you would need to be able to activate a menu that allows playing those songs, otherwise songs on the drive would not be too useful.
A good memory card has the same space as the HDD totally (and most of the HD drive is needed for navigation anyway), why bother with the HD option?
